Star Wars gets stuffed

If I had an ounce of patience to try crochet, I’d totally be trying these amigurumi:

Created by LucyRavenscar, who has made the patterns available for purchase on Etsy.

Did you know that Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures? Me neither!

Personalised hand stamped Jewellery

Personalised hand stamped necklaces, rings, bracelet and bangles. They would make a great gift idea coming up for Christmas for Mum, your sister, manpet..or yourself ;) (you had better get in quick to order to insure delivery in time).

I have been looking around for a necklace myself for months, there are so many..it is hard to decide.

Here are a few great Aussie and OS Personalised jewellery designers and artists (all post to Australia) I have collected in my travels.

Finders Keepers Markets

FK_logo

The Finders Keepers markets are coming up in Brisbane and Sydney.

A great chance to support some amazingly talented Australian designers and artists and get in a spot of Christmas shopping perhaps.

The Brisbane markets are will be held on the October 31st and November 1st 2009.

The Sydney markets will be held on the 4th and 5th December 2009.

Check The Finders Keepers site for more information on times an venues.

Support local designers at ModaMuse

ModaMuse is an online gallery and store supporting Australian and New Zealand designers.

Jewellery, stationery, homewares and even pressies for kids are featured here. It’s a bit like a fancy-schmancy Etsy.

My favourites at ModaMuse:

modamuse
Left to right: Cat Badges (Wood) by Allira, Shadow Puppet Pendant by Lola & Bailey, Silhouette Purse by Blink.

There are actually a heap of badges/brooches/pins on ModaMuse that I could very easily buy. I’m not usually a brooch-wearing kinda gal, but I could be tempted!

Cross-stitch Twitter!

Here’s a way to have your favourite tweets remembered for years to come…

Julie Zidel from the US stitches up your favourite tweets from $US$24.00 (and don’t forget how well the Aussie dollar is doing at the moment!).

She has a few on sale already on her Etsy shop, but you can request a custom one directly on the TweetStitch web site.

And yes, she does ship overseas!

This is my favourite of the ones on offer on her site, purely because I’m a big Stephen Colbert fangirl:

tweetstitch

What tweet would you have stitched? I’m thinking one like this (warning, slightly adult language!) would really impress my family when they come to visit… hehe!
